National Apprenticeship week
It’s National Apprenticeship week and to celebrate we would like you to meet our rising stars!
At CBT Clinics, we love growing and developing talent and so we decided that National Apprenticeship Week was the ideal time to catch up with our former apprentices turned full time employee, as well as our two new business apprentices.
In September 2013, we hired our first two apprentices, Melissa and Amy. Melissa joined the team as a Business Administrator:
“I started working at CBT Clinics in 2013 as an Administrative Apprentice. Over the past 3 and a half years I have slowly grown within the company and I am now a Senior Psychological Treatment Co-ordinator. Without the apprenticeship I wouldn’t have got the job that I have today.”
Amy, on the other hand, joined our accounts department:
“I joined CBT Clinics in 2013 as an apprentice in the accounts department. I was 18 and had just finished my A levels when I started my apprenticeship. Since then I have achieved a NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and AAT Level 2. I am now an Assistant Accountant for the business and continue to study towards my AAT Level 3. My apprenticeship allowed me to grow my confidence in an office environment, whilst still furthering my qualifications. I would highly recommend apprenticeships to young people who may not want to go to university but still want to continue with some further education.”
In November 2017, we hired Laura as a Business Administrator. Laura was keen for a new challenge in her career:
“I’m 30 years old and a business administration apprentice at CBT Clinics. I’m a single parent who has worked in retail and customer services for 15 years. I had been wanting to change careers for a considerable amount of time but was unable to find a way to retrain, work and raise my children consecutively. Finding this role at CBT Clinics has allowed me to do this. Although I was apprehensive to change careers at this age the team have been really supportive in a role that is completely new to me. Every day is really busy with a new opportunity to learn something. It has provided a new challenge for me, allowed me to go back to education and incorporates work and learning so I am able to gain a new skill set and qualification while supporting my family. Gaining work experience as I learned was a key element that made me look into apprenticeships and I hope to develop the skills to progress into a role a CBT Clinics once my qualification has finished. The team are also really friendly and alongside my administrative role I have been able to take on the job of arranging charity events such as our recent Bake Off.”
Following this, Emma joined our team in January 2018. Emma was keen to find the most suitable company to meet her career aspirations and to support her apprenticeship journey:
“I’m 19 and an apprentice at CBT Clinics in business administration. I always wanted to start an apprenticeship in administration but finding the right employers to support me and aid me throughout the course has been the hardest part. Since starting this apprenticeship with CBT Clinics I have already progressed a lot and feel like a part of the team- even winning employee of the month last month! I am continually supported and guided with every aspect of this course here and hope to continue as a part of the team after my apprenticeship is up.”
As a company we are thrilled to support the apprenticeship scheme and would like to thank our current and former apprentices for all their hard work and dedication.
